Grissini are long, thin breadsticks. These impressive appetizers are easy to put together using frozen puff pastry.

Note: To thaw frozen puff pastry, let sit at room temperature, covered with plastic, for 30 minutes.

What Kids Can Do
* Line baking sheets and cutting surface with parchment paper
* Sprinkle cheese on puff pastry
* Wrap prosciutto around grissini

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Sprinkle a large cutting surface with flour. Place puff pastry sheet on top of prepared surface, carefully unfold, if necessary, and roll sheet into a 9- or 10-inch square, if needed. Brush surface with beaten egg and top with shredded Parmigiano, lightly pressing cheese into pastry dough. Cut into 16 strips: cut square in half, then cut each half in half lengthwise, repeating until you have 16 strips. Place strips about a half inch apart on baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes, until grissini are light golden brown. Transfer grissini to cooling rack and cool for 15 minutes. (May be prepared in advance up to this point. Store or freeze in an airtight container. Before serving, bake at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes for room temperature, 8 to 10 minutes for frozen.)
3. Starting at one end of each grissini, wrap a piece of prosciutto around the stick toward the other end. Serve immediately.

Variation: Eliminate the prosciutto and add 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds to the shredded Parmigiano.
